Defenders of the Defenseless

Light Horse Scouts

A mounted anti-poaching unit. Trained in Australia, deployed to defend the wildlife of Africa.

About the Mission

What we do

The Light Horse Scouts is a mounted anti-poaching unit.
We train in Australia and deploy to South Africa to defend wildlife reserves from illegal poaching operations.
Our mission is simple:
Protect endangered wildlife, support conservation efforts, and train men to serve with courage, discipline, and skill.
Scouts are trained in horsemanship, fieldcraft, tracking, navigation, and anti-poaching tactics.
We work in partnership with local reserves and communities, aiming to support—not disrupt—their ongoing conservation work.

About the Mission

Why Horses?

Horses allow us to move quietly, cover more ground, and blend into the terrain.
They also represent an older form of warfare—one that demands discipline, awareness, and presence.
Our mounted scouts are trained to operate in rugged terrain where vehicles fail.

Who We’re Looking For

The Kind of Men We Take

You don’t need experience. You need fire. We want men who are willing to train, to ride, to protect life. If you’ve got grit, discipline, and a heart that beats for purpose, we’ll shape the rest.

Who we're looking for

It’s not for everyone.

Light Horse Scouts isn't a weekend hobby or Instagram cause. It's a mission. Selection filters out the curious. We only take the committed.

How to Join

Apply for Selection

Selection is the gateway — a test of commitment, discipline, and purpose. It isn’t a try-out. It’s the first step towards becoming a Scout, and towards serving something greater. The mission demands more than interest — it demands action. Only those who are ready will move forward.
